A Resort-Like Residence Designed by Principal Designer And Curator Amee Vora

Indeean Home, designed by Principal Designer And Curator Amee Vora, is a unique and urbane residence that combines aesthetic appeal with functionality. The 180 square meter space is smartly divided into living space, dining space, kitchen, balconies, 3 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, and a family den. The family den, carved out from the fourth bedroom, doubles up as a dresser and provides separate baths for the man and woman of the house.

The design of Indeean Home is realized using a combination of materials and textures. The prepossessing Satvario and deep grey marazi form the base, while American oak adds a touch of natural warmth. The vertical surfaces of the home are adorned with stencils, heavily brushed wood, tiny hand-cut mosaic, and machine-carved MDF, creating a visually captivating experience.

The flow of spaces in Indeean Home is carefully planned to allow each member of the family to function without interfering with one another. The design also takes into consideration the needs of a senior citizen suffering from Parkinson's disease. While each member has their personal space, certain areas are designed to encourage family interactions, such as the living room.

The execution of Indeean Home presented several challenges, including the meticulous detailing required within a limited budget. However, the design team, led by Principal Designer Amee Vora, successfully overcame these challenges and brought the vision to life.

The project, located in Thane district of Mumbai, India, was executed between January and September 2016. The design of Indeean Home is the result of extensive research, aiming to achieve synergy between design elements without overpowering one another. The end result is an inclusive design that beautifully addresses the client's individuality while adhering to structural, spatial, and budgetary constraints.

Indeean Home has received recognition for its exceptional design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2017 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.
